At kickingplates.co.uk, we sell Stainless Steel and Aluminium Kicking plates. As you may, or may not have noticed, if you’ve ever looked at buying a Stainless Steel or Aluminium Kick Plate, you will be provided the opportunity to select a Grade of the material. Each grade of material is different and will have a massive effect on the efficiency of the Kick Plate. Some grades are not suited for certain environments, so if you purchase unaware then it could begin eroding.

Stainless Steel Grades

We offer three grades of stainless steel. These are 430, 304 and 316.

Grade 430 – This is the bog standard Stainless Steel plate. It’s ideal for internal use only and should not be used outdoors. This type of stainless steel is not resistant to weathering such as rain and dirt which means it should not be used outdoors. If you want a plate specifically for the indoors, where it won’t be kicked by muddy shoes then this is the ideal material.

Grade 304 – Grade 304 is the next step up from grade 430, and it’s a big step up. It’s very efficient and is durable. It will survive a wide range of weathering such as rain, dirt, however it will not resist against acids and chemicals. This is the ideal material to use on external doors to homes, offices and schools. This can also function as an interior Kick Plate.

Grade 316 – Grade 316 is the most resistant Stainless Steel grade that we supply our Kick Plates in. It will resist all types of weathering due to the coating on the Steel plate. Grade 316 steel, also known as marine grade steel will defend against a huge range of chemicals and weathering. This includes chemicals found in kitchens, swimming baths, hospitals and laboratories. This makes Grade 316 steel the perfect package when shopping for a plate that will resist chemicals.
